Lees Medical Centre is one of only five buildings in the UK to be shortlisted in the Healthcare category for the prestigious BREEAM Awards 2014.

The Lees Medical Practice development is a visionary medical centre with a focus on the environment and sustainability. We are delighted that our intelligent design achieved BREEAM Excellent status and was one of only five buildings in the UK to be shortlisted in the Healthcare category for the prestigious BREEAM Awards 2014.
The Lees scheme provided UHD with the opportunity to explore and develop its most sustainable building to date. From the outset, the aim was to achieve BREEAM Excellent.
Through the use of innovative technologies we created a sustainable development that is exceptionally economical to run. The doctors’ previous surgery was restrictive, dark and non-compliant. The new scheme allows for the provision of more services and is both light and spacious with a double-height atrium creating a superior working atmosphere. The building delivers large and ambient consulting rooms, a treatment room for minor surgery as well as generous meeting facilities for the community.
A comprehensive Building Management System allows the remote monitoring of all the building systems and is actively used to ensure maximum efficiency and reduced energy consumption.
Car parking and security were important factors to the practice and our advanced supervision and security system, along with ample secure parking has been well received by both staff and patients.
Demand for space in this state-of-the-art new build meant the remaining 100m² of expansion space was quickly fitted out, providing additional services including Ultrasound and office accommodation.
