Extension and refurbishment of the existing surgery building enabled us to more than double the accommodation available for the single GP practice in Meltham. In addition, a reorganisation of the site facilitated a number of additional, much needed car parking spaces, within a busy town centre location.
The scheme demanded a traditional design, specifying the use of local stone and slate to ensure that the new extension was in keeping with, and complemented, the existing buildings within this conservation area.
Internally, the careful use of colour and maximising the use of natural light throughout the project has created a pleasant and welcoming building for both staff and patients.
In 2013, a 6.24kW solar panel scheme was retrofitted to the development.
